Peaches and water lilies

In an old Japanese tale an old couple found a peach floating in a river. When they ate it they rejuvenated and became very healthy. (The woman gave birth to a son, who got the name Momotaro, and according to the legend he later became a hero who faught demons.)

This tale about peaches and also Claude Monet’s paintings with water lilies were our two inspirations to make two packaging concepts. The assignment turned out to be a lot like a redesign of the brand Sensai from Kanebo Cosmetics. The brand will now be promoted as an eco-friendly option, wich we think our two concepts will reflect as they are both organic looking and have a luxurious feel. Both concepts have some connection to Japanese culture aswell (Monet in that he was a great western collector of Japanese art).

One of our bigest challanges will be to get this new message (petrochemicaly free products) across to the old high end clients.
