Final packaging and vernissage

The designing of a packaging of a first aid kid is coming to an end. Time has really flown by and today is the last day before the final presentation. We have worked almost as slaves in order to finish the final packaging so that it’s ready for tomorrow’s presentation.

The final prototype

Some changes has happened to the design since last week. One thing is that the colors are stronger so that the product and the box is more distinct and easier to find. Another thing is that our first aid kit finally has a name! It’s called Eira, a beautiful female name that originates from the goddess Eir in Norse mythology. Eir was the goddess of medical skill, which we think fits perfectly to our first aid kit.

Pitch and vernissage

So tomorrow is a big day. A very big day. Tomorrow morning we in GDK-13 are going to make a short presentation, a pitch, of our packaging design solutions to an audience. Naturally, we are super nervous about this, but we are still really looking forward to it. It’s the first time we are holding a real pitch and presenting to an audience consisting of people outside of the university. We are certainly going to learn a lot from this experience.

After all the pitches are done, it is time to prepare for a vernissage. Everyone is going to display their final results at a small exhibition that is open to everybody who wants to come. Big posters are hanging all around campus so hopefully a lot of people will show up!

Final stretch

Today we will concentrate on our presentation and wrap up the final details before tomorrow. To make a complete first aid kit in cardboard has certainly been hard but it has definitely been an inspiring and worthwhile journey. Now we can’t buy or hold a package without giving a thought to how it was made and understand how much time must have gone in to it.

Kind regards,
Anneli and Marie
