Eating crickets

The third week is soon coming to an end and we have come a long way further than the last time we wrote.

“The crickets tastes like…!”

Last week we made an order of crickets from England to taste and to put into our prototypes later on. We thought that it was time to taste the crickets ourselves. Our group and another one decided to taste our bugs together since we were really scared and thought it wouldn’t be as horrible if we did it together. Me (Amanda), was the only one who wanted to try the crickets. Me and Moa from the “ant group” counted to three and put the bugsĀ into our mouths. The crickets were very crunchy and my first reaction were “The crickets tastes like nuts!”. The description of the nutty taste were true and we think they will be perfect for our cricket snacks! The snacks will be in three different favors: Himalaya salt, garlic and chili and chocolate and sea salt.

Pattern design

Since we want our product to look luxury, ecological and healthy we wanted to make a pattern that could together with our packages make this feeling. We wanted to include things that you can relate to the crickets so we decided to get inspired by fields and fruits. We wanted to have a hand drawn look of our pattern, so we first drawn them by hand and then we colored them in photoshop.
