Bladverket–finally done!

Hey everybody!

What a fun and exiting week and now we are finally done! We don´t think we´ve ever spent as much time at school after business hours as we have done this week, BUT all the work and long evenings spent at school has actually resulted in a product and packaging that we can be proud of. We think the word “proud” isn’t enough to describe how content we are with our final packaging and its design!

Well, we might as well go through all the things we have done this week bit by bit!

One major thing we decided earlier during the week was to only make one of the products we have been working on because we had a limited amount of time to actually make it. We wanted to make a product that was 100% correct in every way and we realised that we couldn’t do that if we made two products instead of one. We´re going to make our plant-box in our free time because we really love it and want to realise it in an actual product in the future!

One thing we did was to work a lot on our final structural design when it comes to our “Örtbox”. We had a lot of elements to actually put in and round the box so it took a lot of time to decide where it all should go. We started with having text on all the panels of the box but realised during our process that it would be too crowded if someone were to actually buy it. No one wants to buy basically an essay disguised as a product! So what we did instead was to make a pamphlet that went inside of the packaging to free the panel sides of the box to create an illusion of space. This worked much better than the first draft concerning the panel sides.

We also made a lot of small elements, such as stickers for the box´s inside and one to function as a sealing tool for the box to show the buyer that the content hasn’t been tampered with. We also refined the “Jord” and “Frö” boxes design to fit well with the pattern we picked for the PDP.

On Wednesday we finally were allowed to print our design on the “MIMAKI”-printer here at school. It takes a lot of time to actually prep the files for the actual printing but it was worth it in the long hall!

We spent all day on Thursday actually cutting, prepping and assembling the products in its packaging and finalising our visual language that took shape in our advertisement and our infographics. We also worked a lot on how we should display our product during the “Återbruksfestivalen” and that took some time to figure out as well, but we are very proud of the final result!

On Friday we finally pitched our ide during the festival and it went really well! We got a lot of good feedback from a lot of people and we also met a lot of interesting people as well. As an end to this weeks post we will show our final product! We hope you guys will love it as much as we do! It was so fun to see our product go from an idea to an actual product! Let us present our final product ” Örtbox”!

We actually also did some storefront-work with our packaging to show it to the world. We will show this below:

Both Tilda and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole process and we hope you all did as well! We also want to say thanks to all of you who has followed our creative process and we wish you all well!
