We are Sara  Westerlund and Rachel Wallin, two graphic design students at the Mid Sweden university. We are assigned to design and produce a package for the Swedish avantgarde fashion designer/artist Kim Hagelind. 

The beginning of the process

We started by making a research on Kim Hagelinds designs. We were immediately inspired by his extraordinary designs. To find more inspiration for our design we made research on architectual structures and of more unusual materials. Our original idea was to make a box with eight corners, shaped like an octagon on the top and bottom.

Discussion with our teachers and Kim Hagelind

After further discussion with our teachers and Kim Hagelind we have decided to do some more sketching. Our teachers thought this design would be too advanced, while Kim told us he would like to have something even more extreme… We’ll see what we decide to do.
