During the third week of the packaging project we have spent time on developing the ANKAR Sweden prototype. We have tried to test different thicknesses of cardboard and we have also managed to place an order on the fabric that we want to use when wrapping the box.

Picking the right cardboard

The idea is to use dark blue colored fabric on the outside and a yellow/orange mixed color on the inside. We think that the dark blue fabric will reflect the corporate colors of ANKAR Sweden in a good way. In the beginning of next week the developing of our prototype continues. The focus will be on deciding exactly which cardboard we want to use and measuring how thick the fabric together with the cardboard will be. This is necessary for us to do, so that we can make our final templates.

We also did test photos of the prototype and some mock up´s to get a better idea of what the final product will look like. This has given us the opportunity to place the copy and the logo on the box, without having to print on the actual package. We found this very useful. It’s a quick way of working and it lets us experiment in a free way.

Except from working on the developing of our prototype we have started with the different profile products as well. At the moment we are trying everything from striping a car to a classic ad in magazines. A sketch of a bag has been produced as well and we are working on getting the copy to fit at the best possible way.
