Eat, sleep, design and repeat

As we wrote last week we had a lot of unofficial deadlines, that we had put up for our working process. For instance we wanted the final shape of the kit, the typography and the theme of the illustrations to be decided. So, how did it turned out? Since we wrote last time we’ve spent a lot of hours at the school, in the studio with our first aid cross. We are getting closer and closer to the final product.

Design decisions

In the beginning of the week we once again had guidance with Anna-Sara and Kristina. They gave us many good advices and tips on how to make our prototype even better. Our first aid kit is stil in the shape of an cross, but we have made a lot of changes since the very first prototype. Further on we will continue to work with the illustrations, pictogram and typography. There is a lot of design decisions to make, but we are moving forwards!

The colors that we have choosed to work with is black and white. This because it fits our design and we think it will attract our target group. As a complement to the first aid kit we’re also making a folder with information about first aid and the products in the kit. This folder will have the same type of design elements as the kit.

Hard work

It’s been a really busy week and we have been mixing individual work with lectures. In the beginning of the week our teacher Kevin Gater introduced us to product photography. He made us realise that its not as easy as it looks… There is a lot of parameters to think about to get a really good shot. Today we gave it a try and as you can see it turned out pretty good.

In addition to the lecture about photography we entered a lecture and workshop led by Anna-Sara. This was about how to make the perfect pitch. A pitch is when you present your ideas in a selling, interesting and convincing way. We had a really interesting and instructive afternoon. The big presentation when we are suppose to pitch/present our ideas is getting closer and closer – exciting!
