Landed the examination, now some final tweaks

Now, we are close to the finish line with our packaging design project, Skate aid kit. This week we have prepared a functional prototype for our first examination and started to work with designing our marketing plans for our product.

Preparing for examination

On Wednesday this week we had our first examination for our project. All week we worked with finishing our prototype. Instead of printing our design elements on the cardboard directly, we were supposed to print on paper and stick it on our box so that we easily could make some changes after the examintation without having spent lots of money. We bought paper that looked like cardboard to get a more realistic feel to it. We had five minutes to present our design infront of our class and two of our teachers. It was like a  preperation for the real pitch next friday, but we want change the most of our presentation. We got mostly positive feedback, so now we are improving some final things such as the size of our box and the text.

The prototype is almost complete, just some final tweaks left to do.

 Marketing ideas

Our target group is very active on social media, so we think the best way to market Skate aid kit is to use that  as media channel. We want to start the hashtag #skatesafe on instagram and encourage others to also use it. It is also important for skate aid kit to have a strategic placement in skate- and sport stores, for example together with helmets to get people to realise that skate aid kit is just as imortant. We also have some other marketing ideas, such as sponsoring skate events and to cooperate with professional skateboarders.

Things to do

The grande finale for this project is on Friday next week. So, what do we have left to do before next Friday? We are going to make a graphic design manual, make a bag for Skate aid kit, put together the final prototype,  and create a fantastic pitch.
