Lucky number 7

The first examination is behind us and we have embraced the constructive criticism from our teachers so there’s been quite a few changes and developing done the last few days. We’re now going to focus more on the idea of this kit being a present, both in marketing posters and pitch. We have made different lables, in different colors for different situations.

This Tuesday, one day before the presentation, we decided to bring back our previous colored “wrap” idea to bring some of the inside colors to the exterior of the box. Our thought behind it was that we wanted the consumer to recognize our product on the shelf and connect it to our posters, in which we have used the same colors. Our teachers gave us some pointers and we have now decided that the First Aid Kit is going to be recognized by it’s name rather than it’s colors.

First Aid Kit 7

The name is another thing we’ve developed these days and we have landed on “Första Hjälpen 7”. The number 7 is the number of colors in our box since each product has a different color. Another argument is that it is 7 ways to help a person in need. It is also connected with magic, the 7 days of the week, the colors of the rainbow and so on. 7 is also considered a special and lucky number and we want to benefit from that – If you accidentally hurt yourself it’s lucky if you got 7!

Next week

Since the big mimaki printer doesn’t seem to work we’ve had to be more creative in the practical solutions concerning the actual making of the box. We’re, for example,  going to use black nail polish to paint the name on our First Aid Kit. We’ve come far since last week and we’re still on schedule. Our big pitch for Cederroth is in a week and until then we’re going to put together a design manual, do a photoshoot of our finished kit and create a poster for the vernissage. We have mixed emotions about the upcoming week, it will be fun to finish our work but also a little bit sad since we’ve had such a great time during this projekt.
