First aid kit, examination

This week we finished our prototype of the packaging for our first aid kit so that it was ready for examination. We built the box in the shape and size we wanted, then we printed out the layout design on normal printer paper and glued it to the box. On the examination we received a whole lot of useful feedback from our teachers so that we can polish the design and details before printing the final prototype for next Friday’s presentation.

First aid kit marketing campaign

We also worked out a small marketing campaign for the first aid kid. The campaign is focused around posters that can be put up in stores where the product is going to be sold. They also work just as well as magazine or newspaper ads. The poster is focused on showing of the product. In the background we have placed an illustration of a kitchen, the place where we see the product being used the most.

What we also did was add a small booklet with information to the box. In the booklet you can read about the different products inside the kit and how to use them. This is so that the buyer get the basic knowledge of everything so that he or she is prepared when an emergency is suddenly occurring.

Working from the feedback

The feedback we got from the teachers are now being put to use. We are currently working on our color scheme and doing minor changes to some of the smaller product’s shapes.

During the examination we also got feedback on the presentation we did. The presentation was a tryout of the pitch we are going to hold next Friday, so we learned what to think about and improve to the real thing. Listening to the other groups’ presentations also helped a great deal. We learned a lot!
