One week to go

Welcome back, again!

In the beginning of this week we decied on our product name, which will be Pascual. The name is inspired by the french mathematician and fysician Blaise Pascal, who invented the first working calculator, which was the foundation of modern computers. We added a U in the name to create the kemical letters of the materials the CPU-cooler consists of, Cu for copper and Al for aluminium. The pronunsiation will still be the same as the scientist Pascal.

In the middle of the week we redesigned our packaging. We realised that the diagonal line created a too hard angle for the opening to work. So to make the opening of the package functional, we had to ditch the diagonal line and the hinge, which resulted in a pocket opening instead. This was a tough decision since we really wanted the diagonal line, but the redesign enabled us to create a nice and functional opening aswell as a visually attractive look of the closed box.

So, let’s describe the new package. It’s not too different from the first concept, the color of the outside top and bottom box will still be in a turqoise/green-ish, but with a copper colored separator between them. This copper separator will also work as a frame for the top to overlap.

This friday we got help from our teacher with laser cutting a samping tool of our logotype. This enabled us to test the stamp on our prototype. This worked way better than expected, to our delight.

The last thing we did this week was a bit fiddely, applying leaf metal to the stamped surface of the logo and wrapping the inner cabel holder in black velvet. The result is gorgeous and we can’t wait to show the final result to all of you next friday!

We have a lot of work ahead of us, not only functionally but also typographically, bet we are exited and ready for the challanges, bring it on.

Have a lovely weekend!

Best regards/
