The final

So this is the final post in our Pascual project.

Its been a rough last week with tons of hard work and lack of sleep. We had some trubble finding the correct mesurments for the loose card stock panels, but after a bunch of tests we managed to figure it out along with the correct color for the exterior.

When it came to printing the exterior wrapping we ran into a problem with our paper chioce. We where suppose to print on a standard office A3/80g format, but we realised that we couldnt fit the exterior wrapping, so we had to find a last minute sollution. We went to Artistica looking for a 600-700 mm wide format on a roll, but landed on a 1100 mm wide paper roll used in the univeritys large format printers. So with our paper sorce secured we made one Mimaki print for the exterior wrapping on a 1100 x 1500 mm sheet, which came out looking way better than expected. The paper quality gave the print a matte to glossy mottled finish, and since we only used a singel color (#00423F) we accepted the “happy little accident” since we had the idea of simulating an old copper patina.

After the print we went to work on the final construction. Since we had made so many drafts and messurments down to half milimeter increments it all came togeather with relative ease. But we where up against the clock and the copper flake in the logo was finished by hand 2 minutes before deadline.

And here is the result of the past 5 weeks. We are increadibly happy to be able to say that we not only finished the package, but also did it our way. We stayed with our concept and material choice, which led to a box that acctually worked really well. We made it work!

Now we´re out of cheesy ideas. Have a good one!

Best regards/
