Baseball Park

I have a lot more time than usual during summer vacation. Summer in Japan is hotter because of baseball games.

I can’t miss any games, either professional or amateur.

Baseball is a suspenseful game until the bottom of the ninth!

A baseball game usually takes more than three and a half hours and that’s why my tummy alarm rings.

You know why you need to eat a snack at baseball games right?

It tastes so good that I think I’ll just cry.

The reason why we go to baseball stadiums to watch the games are to root our team on.

That’s why I wear my team’s shirt and cheer until I’m about to lose my voice.

Even though, it’s not actually me playing.

Our wish for victory is the reason why we sometimes eat Katsudon.

Katsu is an abbreviated word for Katsuretsu and it is a dish made up meat, flour, egg and bread crumbs, which are then cooked in cooking oil.

Katsu is pronounced the same as the word for victory.

Though it doesn’t necessarily mean that we’ll win by eating Katsu, we still end up eating Katsudon.

Don in KatsuDon means a dish where other food is placed on top of rice.

It is a dish that can be eaten with ease and no other side dishes.

It is perfect to eat when watching a game where a homerun can be hit at any time.

You’ve probably had this experience.

You’re eating your lunch and all of a sudden all the audience are cheering because of a much awaited homerun.

You want to get up and cheer with the other fans, but the lunch becomes a problem.

There’s nowhere to put down the lunch and you don’t want to put it on the floor because it might get dirty. But on top of this, you don’t want to miss the most important minute of the game!

That’s why it’s best to have a bento so you can quickly close.

I thought about a way to quickly close the lid to my bento.

Because by doing this, I can eat my delicious meal without missing out on important parts of the game.

First, I thought that the box and lid should not be separate like the ones that exist.

That is how the box connected to the lid came about.

It can be easily closed by sliding.

Now I don’t have to miss any important moments.

In addition, Katsudon can be held with one hand unlike longer bento.

That’s why I came up with a design plan.

Now, you don’t have to miss any important moments at the baseball stadium while eating Kastudon in a package that I have designed!
