Chocolate Mountains
The final week is here and we’ve been working hard on our Chocolate Mountains all week. Our number one priority at the beginning of the week was fixing the closing part of the chocolate praline box. We had been contemplating a new solution over the weekend, and for once a new prototype worked on the first try! It seems all of the test printing and folding is finally paying off. The look of the box is the same but it no longer requires threads or rubber bands to close it.
Typography
After the pitch on Friday we got a lot of helpful input and suggestions for changes. Our main concern was the typography on both of the chocolate packages that we rearranged and size adjusted.
Adding some color
When we started working on our concept we had a vision that included a lot of color. As time has passed we’ve been excluding it bit by bit though, until the packages were all black and white. However, we got feedback saying the packages were missing some color, so we decided to try it out again. After test printing different options we found what we think was the winning concept.
The final print
The final print was a nerve wracking experience but the final result came out really good! However, when we were finished with the somewhat tedious work of cutting everything out and folding it we discovered a small maladjustment of the MIUN logo on the chocolate praline box. Although it was annoying to discover it that late, it gave us a chance to do other improvements too.
The final result
Now that five weeks of hard work are coming to an end we have two finished chocolate packages that we are very happy with. Our concept, mountains and water, is characteristic for both the region and Mid Sweden University and works really well to create a profile candy for MIUN that communicates their brand in a subtle but distinct way.
That’s a wrap!
