Weekly round-up!

This week we continued with what we got, and most of our focus has been on our cardboard packaging with the pop-up. We have done some typographic tests for the PDP and concluded that keeping it rather simple for a more dramatic effect when you open up the cover.

Materials

We choose a definitive cardboard for our package, which has a brownish color from being untreated and unbleached in production, because it’s ecological and natural look as well as general impression. Out of the chosen cardboard we created another prototype for the packaging and tried out some simple sans-serif type on the front. The inside sleeve is made in black cardboard because it’s sleek and professional look.

Pitching our idea

We also had a presentation of our concept to an audience consisting of our classmates and teachers, so most of our time this week has been dedicated to planning that out. The goal for next week is to advance more and try to finish and polish up the design as much as possible. Last week we presented another idea of a more sustainable packaging, which is still in an early concept stage – but something we will try to figure out how to produce and present at the final examination as an alternative to the main packaging.
